Without a corkscrew, what can I use to open a bottle?

Do you have such troubles? After getting a good bottle of wine, only to find that there is no corkscrew. Or are you feeling a little tired of your regular corkscrews and want something new? Let’s take a look at these wonderful but very simple ways to open a bottle!

1. Key

In addition to opening the door, the key can also be used to open a bottle. Insert the key into the edge of the cork at a 45-degree angle. When the key is two-thirds of the way into the cork, gently pry the key along the edge of the cork to lift the cork.

2. Rope

Although the rope is thin, it has a great effect. Use a sharp object to dig a hole in the middle of the cork. Knot one end of the rope and use a sharp object to bring the knotted end of the rope into the cork. When the rope reaches the bottom of the cork, remove the sharp object and pull hard on the other end of the rope to pull the cork out.

3. Heating pliers

If your wine has been aged for a long time and you are worried that the cork will break easily, the following method can help you. Hold heated tongs under the neck of the cork for 10 seconds. Then, use a brush to apply cold water to the heated neck of the neck, being careful not to burn yourself. Next, you can easily remove the top of the neck with just a towel. Glass shavings may be mixed in with this method, so remember to filter the wine through a funnel.

4. Bicycle Pump

On the weekends, when you and your friends are biking to the countryside for a picnic, you bring a good bottle of wine and realize you forgot to bring your corkscrew. It doesn't matter, that's when your bike pump comes in handy. The method is very simple, just insert the valve core into the middle of the cork, pump gas into the wine bottle, and soon the wine cork will rise.
